Translation humour

Have you ever enjoyed a nice hunk of 'cowboy leg' or followed an 'Englash program'? More hilarious stuff below. Carefully, bump the head

As long as it's done carefully!

Welcome to the Mc Call Center ;-)

'I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated.'

English officials approached a translation agency to translate the English text for a bilingual road sign in Welsh. When they were sent a message by return of e-mail, they assumed that this was the translation and printed it as such on the road sign. However nothing was further from the truth, as the reply they had received was an automated out-of-office message!

The Council was flooded with responses from residents who did understand what was printed on the sign. A source of much hilarity. The sign has since been replaced.

Puke in the waste bin. Thank you!

You will be boiled!

Temporany shop

Like a dog chasing his tail

Watch out. It's alive!

Don't worry; we'll protect you from the videos!

A nice piece of cowboy leg?      Relax and ...!

Escape from the noise behind after checking in!

Where you'll learn a lot of new things!

Clearly a graduate of the Englash program!

Sorry, we'd rather eat them!

Exactly what we were looking for: The store which offers the place which people and a man touch and suit!

Tasty? Crab gluten with a bad smell!

We wonder what comes after the barbecue!

Straight from the Englash program dictionary: 'The hovse wife', 'hsachine', 'specii cations', etc.

Do nottatto! Grab your room spoon first!

True animal lovers, the translators of this sign: you can tease them, but you can't hurt them!

A stupid translation or a clever marketing ploy by the Swedish manufacturer Electrolux? At any rate, it made us laugh out loud! This slogan was used by Electrolux in the 1960s to promote its vacuum cleaners in the UK.
