Sworn translations and legalisation
For international legal procedures in particular, it is often important that your translation is handled by a sworn translator - which can naturally be arranged via ATS. A sworn translation will always come in the form of a physical document, to which a declaration by the translator and the source document have been attached with a ribbon and a seal. The translator is registered at at least one Dutch court of law. In cases where you not only require a declaration of certified translation but also need the validity of the signature of the translator to be confirmed (legalised), we can take care of this for you.
For countries that are signatory to the Apostille Convention, a shortened legalisation procedure applies. Translations intended for countries that have not ratified the convention, will however have to be submitted to a variety of official bodies to obtain legalisation. The document will need to be approved by, consecutively: the court where the translator is registered at, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consulate or embassy of the country for which the translation in question is intended. Allowing ATS to handle the legalisation of your translation will save you a tour of the various bodies.
